Natalie Lumpkin

Hi, I’m Natalie! The love for my people, my passion for art, and my technology driven brain connected during the 2020 hyper focus on our long standing struggle with racial injustice. I was inspired to create a platform for the Black community that does the following:

Provides a safe space to have deep and meaningful conversations about our experiences being Black in this country, which inspire and promote change.

Instills and strengthens the sense of belonging in our Black youth by exploring how we connect to each other and ourselves through the creation of art.

Creates a new set of leaders who by example become change makers for future generations.

I’m from Seattle, WA, and I hold a BA in Psychology from the University of Washington, a Teaching Certificate from Seattle University, and hold certifications as a Professional Wholeness Coach, Meditation/Breath-work facilitator. I am a storyteller who uses a pen/keyboard/camera and clay as my mediums of expression.

artful belonging was launched in June 2020, days after the murder of George Floyd.
